THE CORPS OF CADETS 131ST ACP SQUADRON

The Corps of Cadets, Aerospace Cadets of the Philippines (or ACP) which is now in existence for more than 15 years, was established as a mandatory compliance to the call of our country thru its mandates from the Philippine Constitution, the Department of National Defense and Armed Forces as a requirement for all male and female students who are taking up their last year in High School.

Generally, the ACP Program is intended to promote national enthusiasm in aviation among youth of the land. Specifically it is designed to develop youth leadership in the field of aviation through the acquisition of the basic skills in Aerospace Technology, which is contributory to the general welfare and betterment of life of the members of the communityDuring Christmas time the SSC officers with their SSC advisers, Administrators and some teachers visit the two adopted communities and conduct gift giving and games. They have fun playing and singing with them. Refreshments are served for them and all of them look forward to this outreach activity of the Council. As student leaders they are given opportunities to meet other student leaders in the Division of Pasig City by attending the annual PAPRISA Leadership Training and Workshop. This aims to enhance further their leadership skills and promote camaraderie among other student leaders from the division. As a result, the 131st ACP Squadron, which was the appointed unit as assigned by the First Air Reserve Center (or First ARCen) from the Philippine Air Force (PAF) for the Our Lady of Perpetual Help School Corps of Cadets came into existence. From its initial activation on June 1996 until today, it continually pursues the objective of rendering an unwavering service to our country, God, the school and our community in general.Part of the ACP Program as stated in the Memorandum of Agreement between PAF and OLPHS is to continuously train high school students to participate in the International Air Cadet Exchange Program (or IACEP). The said program gives the opportunity for able individuals to represent the country in Asian and European countries for exchange of cultural ideas, aerospace interest, knowledge and foster camaraderie in between nations. It was fortunate that OLPHS has been given the opportunity to send two cadets to IACE, namely: Merano (batch 2011) – delegate to Singapore with SSg Ruben Donor Kenneth Dayrit (batch 2012) – delegate to HongKong, Macau and Mainland China with Mr. Richard Doreza.
